When Is a Full Reconstruction Necessary?

How Is a Reconstruction Performed?

Tear-off of the Existing Roof
The membrane, flashings, and all deteriorated material are removed to expose the underlying structure.

Tear-off of the Decking
The wood decking is removed once the roof covering has been taken off. This step provides direct access to the underlying structure and allows the true condition of the substrate to be assessed before proceeding with repairs.

Removal of the Old Insulation
The existing insulation is completely removed. If moisture or mould has penetrated, this is the step where it is addressed.

Installation of the Vapour Barrier
A new vapour barrier is installed on the decking to prevent condensation from penetrating the insulation and the structure.

Installation of the New Insulation
High-performance insulation is installed in accordance with the Building Code requirements and the specific needs of the building, whether residential or commercial.

New Wood Decking
A new wood substrate is laid over the insulation to serve as the base for the membrane.

Installation of the New Membrane
The chosen membrane (elastomeric, TPO, or other) is installed according to manufacturer standards. Flashings, drains, and perimeters are carefully sealed.
